TRE GLOVER

Tre Glover is involved with Start Strong Boston because he believes that everyone deserves to be in a healthy relationship. He wants to reach out to his peers and be a resource in ending teen dating violence and promoting healthy relationships. Tre believes that teens need to be part of the solution to dating violence because they can provide a unique perspective and experiences that adults may not have.

Tre was chosen to be a youth representative of Start Strong Boston because of his leadership abilities and his commitment to creating a more peaceful Boston community. At Charlestown High School, he was the only freshman elected to hold an office in the student government. He has also been an active advocate for peacemaking both as a youth member of the Street Safe initiative and as a member of his school community. He was recently given his school’s humanitarianism award for leadership.

Most of Tre’s violence prevention work has been through his involvement with the “Jahmol’s Vision for Youth Peace” project. This project involves young people like Tre talking about the tragic death of Jahmol Norfleet, who made the decision to leave gang life and spread peace. It is young people like Tre who are continuing that message. Tre is looking forward to using skills to address teen dating violence.
