REBECCA “BECCA” COX

Rebecca “Becca” Cox is involved with Start Strong Idaho because she wants to help teenagers become informed decision-makers so that they can form positive relationships in the future. Rebecca has witnessed many outstanding teenagers in her community brought down by the weight of an unhealthy dating relationship. She believes middle school is a time when many bad decisions are made, and this often determines what teens will do in high school and the rest of their lives.

Rebecca was chosen to be a youth representative for Start Strong Idaho because of her ability to work with a diverse group of people and her ability to engage her audience. Her rural background and interest in helping young people in her community will help her be a strong leader.  Prior to her work with Start Strong Idaho, Rebecca had no formal experience working in the area of teen dating violence prevention; however, she has had extensive experience as a youth leader and mentor in her community and statewide.

Rebecca would like to ignite an attitude of self-worth in kids who struggle with building strong relationships. She wants to inspire this attitude because she believes that increased self-worth can help kids learn to make positive choices and reach their potential. In doing her part in this project, Rebecca will bring new ideas to the table concerning what it takes to build positive teen relationships. She will spread the word of what Start Strong Idaho is so that it benefits kids in the throughout Idaho and the country.
