Mason Freese is involved with Start Strong Indianapolis because he wants to raise awareness about teen dating violence and abuse. He believes that by contributing to this cause he will prevent his classmates from being victims of dating abuse. He knows that Start Strong Indianapolis will benefit his school and others in the community.

Mason was selected to be a teen leader for Start Strong Indianapolis because he demonstrated dependability and leadership potential. Mason has a calm and confident demeanor that guides him through difficult social situations, and this helps others in the school.  All of these factors, plus a strong personality, have gained Mason the respect of his fellow students as well as teachers and administrators. He interacts well with his peer group and serves as a person that his peers can approach if they need advice or assistance. 

Mason is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and has participated in school programs such as G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training), and PEERS (Peers Educating and Encouraging Relationships Skills).
