Sharlotte Gonzalez was introduced to Start Strong through the Peace Over Violence weekly school club at her local high school. She became really interested in the conversations surrounding teen dating, community violence and sexual harassment.

She’s learned so much information from Peace Over Violence and Start Strong, such as saying mean things to someone or about someone is just as violent as hurting them physically. She’s also learned that being obsessed with someone you’re in a relationship with “is not cool” because it could also lead to control and abuse.

She looks forward to educating other people about violence and especially people her age about teen dating violence because it goes on in her community and at her school. Her hope is that her community overall will stop using violence.
