  • Introducing Safe Dates, a healthy relationships curriculum, into four middle schools across Oakland via classroom, after-school, and summer activities reaching 1,600 students ages 10-14 per year
  • Expanding our policy advocacy in Oakland around dating violence with the help of our partner Oakland Unified School District and led by a youth advisory board comprised of the most experienced youth leaders from our three partner organizations.
  • Engaging and targeting parents/caregivers, teachers, schools staff, and young adults in process of helping teens build healthy relationships through trainings, awareness events, and media such as Facebook, YouTube, PSA’s, blogs, and more traditional media such as radio shows and print articles
  • Implementing a social marketing campaign using poster campaigns, “The Scoop” a for youth by youth newsletter and online tools such as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to market building healthy teen relationships to youth
  • With our partner Youth Radio taking the lead we will also be using their weekly radio show “I’m da BOM” where youth to express their views on dating violence and expanding our message through the latest forms of technology, including podcasts, text messaging, viral marketing and PSAs
