WELCOME TO A NEW NATIONAL CONVERSATION ABOUT HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
How many conversations do you have in a day? This one is different. It’s urgent, and it calls on the whole country. It’s a conversation with a mission: to define what a healthy relationship is.
Too many people are finding themselves in violent, abusive, and damaging relationships. One reason? They may never have had a conversation like this one, a talk about healthy relationships, about what they look and feel like.
We need what you know, and we’re asking for your best: your best thinking, your best advice, your best observations to make this conversation meaningful and effective, and to get this country learning about healthy relationships—how to have them, build them, keep them and ensure that violence and abuse are never tolerated.
There is no right answer to what a relationship should be. But let’s engage each other in a way that will help us understand what is healthy and what is not, and what is acceptable and what is not.
How? We’ve created a few ways for you to jump in. Tell us what you think! If you’re eleven, what do you want to learn? If you’re eighty-eight, what can you teach us? From Maine to Montana, California to Connecticut, Idaho to Indiana, middle school to middle age, senior high to senior citizen—we want to hear from you! Help us Start Strong!
Get the Facts
One in three teens report knowing a friend or peer who has been hit, punched, kicked, choked or physically hurt by their partner. Like millions of adults, teens are often the victim of dating violence.
